Seville, 23rd of June, 2015. Seville-produced Puerto de Indias Premium Gin, which was launched in September, 2013, showed a turnover of 5 million euros in 2014, its first full year of operation, a twenty-five-fold increase on the company’s previous year.
In this short space of time the workforce of Puerto de Indias, whose facilities and distillery are located in the village of Carmona (Seville), has increased from 2 to 40, taking into account both direct and indirect employees. According to Basilio Rodríguez, manager of Karmo Spirit, “in addition to manufacturing the product itself using natural raw materials from Andalusia, we have also opted for contracting local employees and suppliers”.
In addition to its presence throughout Spain, which has been achieved via the signing of agreements with the foremost national retailers and distributors, Puerto de Indias Premium Gin is now exported to the UK, Portugal and Holland. In the words of the company’s representative, “once we have established ourselves in both the national market and with the principal distribution groups, our next step is internationalisation. Exporting our product to other countries is essential to our continued growth”.
